WHO WE ARE

We are a group of educators and professionals who are driven to share our expertise and stories in our practice with other educators and families; so together, we can build a better world for the future.

Our Story

Our Story

It all started with the pandemic, COVID-19 or Coronavirus. In early February, schools in China had to resort to online learning after realizing the uncertainty of when it will be safe for the students to go back to school. That's when teachers had to start learning different tech tools and strategies to continue with learning and to provide support to the students.

When the virus has started spreading more rapidly in different parts of the world, schools started preparing for online learning. Elyse Go from Multilingual Inc. and  Eda Go decided to create a workshop on how online learning was made possible in China entitled "The World of E-Learning."  This session was led by Tracey Jani (Technology and Innovation Coordinator), Barbara Grotowska (Art Teacher), Christi-Ann Moody (Early Years Teacher), Eda Go (Primary Teacher), Krizanne Ty (Co-Founder of Game On Sports) and Erica Lim (ECE Teacher and Parent) .

This session has sparked interest amongst its attendees to find out more not just about tech tools that were introduced, but on how to shift to a more progressive approach wherein  students are taught the tools they need to be independent and life-long learners. We then decided to take the opportunity to create a platform wherein we can ask for the expertise of different educators around the world to share with other educators and families best practices in education. Our first sessions were sharing about Project-Based/ Inquiry Based Learning Approach to some schools together with Eda and Cilla Giannopoulos.

We hope that with our support, more children around the world will experience good quality of education wherein their needs are met and they are encouraged to be the best versions of themselves. We also dedicate our platform to all educators who have made a difference in our lives.  We are continuously learning everyday how we can better serve our communities and we hope you can be a part of our journey too.

Our Logo

Inspiration

EDEN2_edited.png

Our inspiration for our logo is Eden Grace. Eda had the chance to spend time with Eden back in Hangzhou City when she was 3-5 years old. Eda remembers Eden as being creative, persistent, a risk-taker, and unafraid to express herself.

Eden’s early childhood is what we hope for Teacher’s Trails journey to be-always evolving, constantly breaking barriers and open to unlimited possibilities. We also hope that with our sharings, more children like Eden can have a chance in this world to see their inner beauty and become enthusiastic lifelong learners.

The little girl represents  confidence and wonder. Her uncertainty is making her feel more excited about the possibilities of learning. Her wand shows how she recognizes her powers to create magical things and leave lasting impact in this world. She also loves to dance to the beat of life.

Igniting creativity is our goal so we are proud to have our logo made by two people who truly enjoy expressing themselves through different forms of art. Our logo was hand drawn by Joanne Raissa Tong and it was digitized and co-designed by Isabelle Tong. Joanne enjoys making comics, portraits and illustrations while Isabelle is a great photographer.
